Arizona Playwriting Award

2012 Arizona Playwriting Award Winner Announced!
Arizona Theatre Company announces the selection of Savage Bond by Steve Holiday as the winner of the 2012 Arizona Playwriting Award. Savage Bond is one of the plays featured at the 2012-2013 season of Café Bohemia.

When tragedy reunites six people the day before Thanksgiving, they come together to protect their departed mutual friend's assets from his greedy family. When the weather traps them together for the holiday and they find a journal filled with each of their secrets, they discover that dysfunction is universal, grief is humorous and heart-wrenching, and family is... relative.

The Arizona Playwriting Award was established in 2010 by Arizona Theatre Company to honor the quality of work created by Arizona playwrights. The award recognizes a play of the highest caliber submitted by a current resident of Arizona. The 2011 winner was Michael Fenlason's The Last Red Book.
