ATC Nominates Rob Glaser for a Spirit of Philanthropy Award
When Rob Glaser was growing up on Long Island, New York, his mother took him to see Broadway shows, much to his chagrin. However, he found himself enjoying those early theatrical experiences….and felt transformed by what he saw on the stage. He never imagined in his wildest dreams that his life path would eventually lead him the position of President of the Board of Trustees for Arizona Theatre Company. Through his Board service, he has been able to rekindle that passion for theatre that he felt so many years ago.
ATC is proud to nominate Rob Glaser for a Spirit of Philanthropy Award in conjunction with the upcoming National Philanthropy Day on November 9, 2011 at the Westin La Paloma. The Association of Fundraising Professionals Southern Arizona Chapter is presenting the Spirit of Philanthropy Awards at National Philanthropy Day to recognize special people and organizations within Southern Arizona that have made significant philanthropic contributions. The intent of the Spirit of Philanthropy Award is to recognize publicly those who demonstrate the spirit of philanthropy through their contributions of time, efforts and/or resources.
Rob Glaser was invited to join the ATC Board of Trustees five years ago by Trustees Joe Gooter and Lew Schorr. He and his wife Laurie are longtime community supporters in Tucson, so Rob jumped right in and became involved. He and Laurie have hosted house parties, and he has fond memories of entertaining the cast of Hair. Laurie Glaser is co-chair of the 2011 Gala and they recently hosted a Gala Preview Party at their home, featuring the cast of The Mystery of Irma Vep. Rob and Laurie regularly attend Circles Dinners and frequently bring guests to introduce to ATC. They are passionate supporters of the mission of ATC.
According to Rob, “ATC feels like family….I am often in awe of their artistic ability, and as difficult as the times are, and the work can be, I really feel inspired to contribute to the theatre.” Rob is proud to be part of the ATC culture. He feels our staff is passionate and loves what we do. Congratulations, Rob, we are proud to honor you with a 2011 Spirit of Philanthropy Award for your hard work and dedication to ATC!
