CLASSIC FILMS AT THE TEMPLE: A NIGHT AT THE OPERA
Join us at the Temple of Music and Art this summer for a special film event! Throughout the summer, we will be opening the Temple of Music and Art to screen eight classic films. For each screening, we will be hosting a featured beverage donor and food truck, AND there will be live music in the courtyard before the film starts. Your $10 ticket also gets you free popcorn and 1 free beverage!
You won’t want to miss this limited-time opportunity to escape the Tucson heat and eat, drink, and enjoy these wonderful films on the big screen!
The Marx Brothers’ comedy classic A Night at the Opera (1935) features Kitty Carlisle, Allan Jones, Margaret Dumont, Sig Ruman, and Walter Woolf King in a comedic take on high society. In their first film for MGM (and after the departure of Zeppo from the troupe), the Marx Brothers turn an operatic performance into chaos in their efforts to promote their protege’s romance with the leading lady. It was selected for preservation in the National Film Registry at the Library of Congress in 1993.
The screening begins at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets are $10 and may be purchased online or at the door.
