THE ADDAMS FAMILY (Summer on Stage 2017)
Summer 2017 is the SOS/SBS Summer of Horror!
Everyone’s favorite lovable family of creepy, kooky eccentric characters takes the stage in The Addams Family, the musical. Gomez and his ever-devoted wife, Morticia, are thrown for a loop when their daughter, Wednesday – who is now 18 – finds herself falling in love with a quite ordinary boy, Lucas Beineke. When Wednesday invites the “normal” Beineke family to dinner at the Addams mansion for the families to meet, comic chaos ensues.
Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased online or at the door.
Our featured food truck for this performance is JoZarelli’s Food Truck. Enjoy food and beverages outside in the courtyard or indoors in the air-conditioned lounge space from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.! The lobby bar will be available before the show and at intermission.
Summer on Stage is a five-week intensive training program for high school students interested in developing advanced skills in theatre arts. By training with the professionals at Arizona Theatre Company, the students gain real world experience by helping to create two fully produced productions – one play and one musical – while also training in onstage and backstage techniques. The Onstage students learn skills in auditioning, voice, dance, movement, text analysis, Shakespeare, acting methods, improvisation and stage combat; and the Backstage students develop skills in lighting, sound, paints and props, stage management, and set design, while also helping to create the design elements for the productions. This year, Summer on Stage is culminating with our production of Macbeth on July 27th at 7:00 p.m., and The Addams Familyon July 28th at 7:00 p.m.
