What to expect:

When should I arrive?

We recommend patrons arrive at least 30 minutes before the show to avoid last-minute lines at the Box Office. Large groups should allow more time before the show to distribute tickets. We recommend an hour before the performance.

What should I wear?

We have no official “dress code” for attending plays at Arizona Theatre Company. Typically, patrons choose dress/casual attire for non-Opening Night performances and formal attire for Opening Nights. However, we’d rather have a patron come in jeans and sweatshirt than not come at all out of concern for how they are dressed.

Calls during the show?

We ask all patrons to silence their phones during the show. This includes smart watches and other items that ring or glow as they disturb the actors and people around you.

Is there beverage and snack service?

The Temple Bar is open to all ticket holders 60 minutes prior to each performance. Our Bar specially features Arizona beers as well as wines, sodas, bottled water, and snack items. For recommendations on restaurants downtown, visit Downtown Tucson Partnership’s website.

How long is the show? Is there an intermission?

Most of ATC’s shows are approximately 2 hours long including a 15-minute intermission. You will receive an email a few days prior to your show with run-time and show details.

More Information to Know Before You Go:

Throughout the pandemic, Arizona Theatre Company has consistently followed guidelines recommended by the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to ensure the safety of our cast and crew, staff, and audiences. With COVID-19 cases declining significantly in Arizona, and in alignment with new guidelines recently released by the CDC, ATC will be adjusting the requirements for patrons while attending performances at our theatres.

Updated information about safety requirements will be communicated to ticket holders as show dates approach through our “Know Before You Go” email communications.

For ticket holders who are unready to return to the theatre, five of our six Mainstage plays will be professionally recorded with three cameras on Opening Night. This means that whether you’re in the theatre or at home, your tickets let you experience the shows.

Just come to the Box Office, provide your name, and let us know you lost your ticket. We can issue you a location pass for your seat(s). You may be asked to see an ID.

Pick up your tickets at the Temple of Music and Art Box Office. An hour before the show, “Will Call” tickets will be available at a table in the courtyard.

We don’t usually require an ID to pick up tickets. Normally, all you will need is the first and last name of the person who purchased the tickets.

If you are running late, keep in mind that the Box Office windows stay open until about 15 minutes after curtain. If you arrive by that time, you can pick up your tickets there. If not, see the house manager in the lobby. He/she will have your tickets. The ushers will take you into the house and have you stand at the back until the next seating break.

While some shows are not appropriate for children, children ages 5 and up are welcome to attend if you purchase them a ticket. Children under 5 are not allowed in the theatre.

You can leave the number for the Temple of Music and Art House Manager: (520) 547-3981. Remember to also leave your seat locations with your sitter so we can locate you more easily.

6-Play Subscribers and Premium Flex Pass holders can exchange tickets to another day during the same show’s run at no charge. Flex Pass holders and single-ticket holders will be charged $5 per ticket exchanged. You can call the box office at 833-ATC-SEAT (M-F 10 AM to 5 PM) or fill out the Contact the Box Office web form and a Patron Services associate will contact you or process your exchange and send a confirmation email.

If you’re unable to attend another day during the show’s run, you can donate your tickets back to ATC as a tax-deductible donation (we will re-sell your tickets) if you notify us at least 24 hours in advance. Please call the box office at least 24 hours before your show. We will make a note on your account and send you a letter acknowledging your contribution.

If you find that you are unable to attend a performance at the last minute, email us to let us know and we will give your ticket to a student who may be waiting for rush tickets for that show. We cannot, however, issue a tax credit for tickets donated less than 24 hours before the scheduled performance.

If you have questions, the most efficient way to reach the box office is to fill out the Contact the Box Office web form.

You may also speak with a Patron Services associate by calling 833-ATC-SEAT (M-F 10 AM to 5 PM). After hours, you may call and leave a message, and a Patron Services associate will get back to you on the next business day.

We regularly send emails to subscribers, previous ticket holders, and others who sign up to receive our emails. If you are not receiving emails from Arizona Theatre Company, please add info@arizonatheatre.org to your trusted senders list. If you think you’ve accidently opted out of receiving ATC emails, you will need to opt back in by clicking below.

As we always say, in these unpredictable times, our audience is our family and our most valued asset. We are inspired by your commitment to keep live theatre thriving in our state. If you have any questions, concerns, or even feedback, please reach out to us directly and we will do our best to answer your questions or solve your problems.
